Oh my gosh, you guys. It's already June. Where has this year even gone? Are you feeling the same way too? Like this year is half over already and I feel like I haven't done anything with the first five months.

Anyways, anybody here from Michigan? Raise your hand in anger if you are loathing the weather lately. Cold, rainy, cloudy, windy. Constantly. Or sometimes it'll be sunny in the morning and then rain for the rest of the day. Or it'll be super sunny but like 50 degrees. Typically the weather becomes warm and nice in mid to late May but not this year or last year. I'm certainly hoping all this bad weather will end and we'll get a nice summer but Michigan weather has a way of keeping you on your toes.
I did finally get to venture to the beach and enjoy some sun. We jumped in the car on the last day of May, a gorgeous day of 75 degrees and sunny, and headed to South Haven. It was windy at the beach but not terribly, so we soaked up the sun for hours. Personally I like to read at the beach, so I brought two books and spent most of time reading in my beach chair.

We were also provided some entertainment thanks to two windsurfers. Honestly that sport looks so fun. Difficult for sure, but definitely worth it. Watching them carve through the waves was really cool.
I finally got a chance to wear the For Love and Lemons bottoms that I bought last year. They're a super cute cut-out high waist style that tie in the back. I love the pink color and the white flowers embroidered on them. I paired them with a ruffle strap white bikini top from J.Crew, but I was too cold to part with my Pink Floyd t-shirt.

After we left the beach we walked around downtown South Haven and went to our favorite store, the Candy Store, where they sell homemade candies as well as more rare and nostalgic packaged types, like the WonderBall. Also we saw the coolest vintage Ford Mustang driving around. Can't say I wasn't extremely jealous of whoever was behind the wheel.
If you haven't been to South Haven before you should really check it out. It's a cute and beachy little town with fun shops (check out the Candy Store, for real) and restaurants and is really walk-able. The beaches are always gorgeous for soaking up the sun or you can walk the pier and watch the boats going in and out. They also have fun festivals, like the Blueberry Festival and a nice Farmer's Market. During summer I go to South Haven often, it's so lovely and the salt free water of Lake Michigan is fantastic.
Enjoy your day! -Sam
