I've always loved exploring this little city, read on for outfit details.

When the biggest city around is Kalamazoo you know you're in a rural area. With only a couple skyscrapers and a handful of big buildings Kalamazoo is a charming little city brimming with culture and history. I've always enjoyed exploring downtown; the shops in the Kalamazoo Mall, the parks, and the old architecture juxtaposed with the new.

The weather was nice so we decided to take an afternoon stroll through the city. It was a great chance to really test out my new Tamara Mellon heels, so we walked a couple blocks and snapped a few pictures. I am really impressed by these shoes! No foot pain whatsoever. I am wearing the Frontline sandal with a 75mm heel, they are also sold with a 105mm heel. Tamara Mellon is a badass woman selling shoes by women, for women. Her shoes are classic and sexy, made with traditional and new processes at the same places other luxury shoes are created. Every pair you buy comes with free cobbler concierge, so when they're worn out or break you can send them back and they'll be fixed. For free. I'll dive more into detail on this brand and remarkable woman in a later post.

Since I've always loved a casual outfit with polished accessories I grabbed my Levi's 501 Skinny jeans. I wore them with a black t-shirt from Kohl's with feminine tulip sleeves and faux pearl trim and my Tamara Mellon Frontline sandals. My bag is from Kate Spade, it's the cutest bucket bag design I've seen and have been wearing it ever since I bought it.

Mixing high and low designers is a way to keep your closet fresh without breaking the bank. I suggest investing in items like shoes and purses, they get a lot of day to day use and are an easy way to spruce up cheaper outfits. While I do consider Levi's jeans to be an investment, especially their Premium Quality items like the 501's and Ribcage lines, I think they are worth every penny. Their 501's are cult classics for a reason, they are flattering and durable af. They are the kind of jeans that only get better with time. Save your money on basic things like t-shirts, tank tops, oxford shirts, and also super trendy items. Places like Old Navy, Gap, JC Penney, and similar chains make perfectly good ones that you can actually stock up on.

I've put links down below for items in this post!
