Makeup and all things beauty are by far one of my biggest loves. I absolutely adore the confidence and mood boosting effects that makeup can have on myself and others. The great thing about makeup is that it is so customizable for each individual person and it is so easy to switch up looks and swap products to make new creations on the canvas that is your face. From sharp cat-eyes to smudged eyeshadow, lip gloss to liquid lipstick makeup is a really personal thing. I love that about makeup because every person who wears it has common ground with others, and with that we can swap tips and tricks with the novices and the experts.
After graduation from high school I began wearing makeup not to hide but instead because I thoroughly enjoy the process. It’s a ritual that calms and prepares me for whatever is ahead. I began focusing more on skincare to treat what I desired to cover and I also began playing with more statement making looks. And I began to have a new favorite makeup item that wasn’t intended for covering so called flaws. Lipstick.
Bright, bold, pigmented lipstick. My favorite shade was, and still is, red. Such shocking color draws attention to the lips and brightens the whole face. Lipstick makes you look and feel like you’re all put together, even if you really aren’t. It says to the world that yeah, I’m a badass woman who isn’t afraid to make a statement. There’s a reason French women wear red lipstick so often, it’s just perfect for everything and every outfit. Jeans and a t-shirt to a full on ballgown, red is always a flattering pick. It’s bold but not excessive. It’s loud without being belligerent. My favorite shade of red is a bit on the darker side, like a good scarlet red, although I do appreciate a cheerful poppy red or a classic true red now and then.
Which is why I’m so excited to have been testing out lipsticks from L’Oreal. I have been gifted a set of three lipsticks from L’Oreal through Influenster to test out, they have just been released and let me tell you I am marching to the nearest store to buy another tube of the red shade they sent me. Not only is the liquid formula light and airy feeling on the lips but it is comfortable, highly pigmented, and fades to an even stain after hours of wear. It’s described as ink and frankly that is the best word possible for it. It’s not heavy feeling but rather is light and movable. I prefer to use it with lip liner to extend the wear but it is fantastic without liner as well. I even ate soup without the dreaded look of worn off lipstick in the center of my lips and not worn off around the edges. The unique shape of the applicator is super helpful for application, it’s bent at an angle and the applicator itself comes to a point. The amount of product that it picks up is fairly good, although just a bit too much excess product is picked up but that is not hard to just wipe off.

The red shade, I Am Worth It, is a flattering true red. I also received two other more muted shades, I Rule and I Create, that are beautiful as well. I Rule has more purple undertones and reads almost mauve on me and I Create is more nude with neutral undertones that I wasn’t as crazy about. But then again I’m not saying it’s a bad shade because it’s still quite flattering, I just prefer bolder colors. Both of these shades are just as easy to wear and have the same amazing color payoff and comfort as the red. The only negative thing I’ve discovered with these lipsticks after lots of testing is that they do transfer, even after drying down. It’s not a lot of transfer but it does cause it to fade a bit quicker.
On top of everything else amazing about these lipsticks is the gorgeous packaging. The tubes are very sleek and much more expensive looking than they are. I love simple yet effective packaging and these are worthy of top shelf pictures and flatlays. Display these beauties on your vanity as a reminder that beauty and function do go hand in hand. I’m also a fan of the names, I Create, I Rule, and I am Worth It are great little reminders that yes you really are amazing.
I highly recommend you check these liquid lipsticks out at your local drugstore because they are truly a liquid lipstick that won’t make you feel as though your lips are shriveling up and falling off. Not even after a full day of wear. And at $10.49 they are luxury without the guilt of a splurge!
This is my honest opinion of the gifted lipsticks and I was really excited to be trying them out and I hope that you enjoy my thoughts on them. One thing I’m passionate about is always being truly honest so you can know that I test any products rigorously before writing a review. I expect a lot from my makeup and I am sure that you do too. Despite this product being gifted to me I will not allow any free product dissuade me from telling my honest opinion about it. Luckily, this time the product ended up being really fantastic and I’m super excited about it! Hope you enjoy!
